A hyper-stable cholesteric heliconical superstructure has been achieved at room temperature through a simple strategy of mixing liquid crystal dimers. This breakthrough, recently reported in Matter by Li and colleagues, demonstrates an unprecedented and practical optic system for monochromatic light filtering important for various fields.
